On general flux backgrounds with localized sources

چکیده
We derive new consistency conditions for string compactifications with generic fluxes (RR, NSNS, geometrical) and localized sources (D-branes, NS-branes, KKmonopoles). The constraints are all related by string dualities and share a common origin in M-theory. We also find new sources of instabilities. We discuss the importance of these conditions for the consistency of the effective action and for the study of interpolating solutions between vacua.

Designing an Am-Be miniature neutron source
Background: Miniature neutron sources with high neutron flux have abundant applications in medicine, industry and researches. The most important general characteristic of miniature neutron sources is their diameter which is 3mm in average. In this research, we have surveyed and designed an Am-Be miniature neutron source fabrication. Materials and Methods: This investigation resulted in creation...
متن کاملLensing-Induced Structure of Submillimeter Sources: Implications for the Microwave Background
We consider the effect of lensing by galaxy clusters on the angular distribution of submillimeter wavelength objects. While lensing does not change the total flux and number counts of submillimeter sources, it can affect the number counts and fluxes of flux-limited samples. Therefore imposing a flux cut on point sources not only reduces the overall Poisson noise, but imprints the correlations b...
متن کاملA note on blow-up in parabolic equations with local and localized sources
This note deals with the systems of parabolic equations with local and localized sources involving $n$ components. We obtained the exponent regions, where $kin {1,2,cdots,n}$ components may blow up simultaneously while the other $(n-k)$ ones still remain bounded under suitable initial data. It is proved that different initial data can lead to different blow-up phenomena even in the same ...
متن کاملCosmic and Galactic Neutrino Backgrounds from Thermonuclear Sources
We estimate energy spectra and fluxes at the Earth’s surface of the cosmic and Galactic neutrino backgrounds produced by thermonuclear reactions in stars. The extra-galactic component is obtained by combining the most recent estimates of the cosmic star formation history and the stellar initial mass function with accurate theoretical predictions of the neutrino yields all over the thermonuclear...
متن کاملN = 2 Sigma Models for Ramond - Ramond Backgrounds
Using the U(4) hybrid formalism, manifestly N=(2,2) worldsheet supersymmetric sigma models are constructed for the Type IIB superstring in Ramond-Ramond backgrounds. The Kahler potential in these N=2 sigma models depends on four chiral and antichiral bosonic superfields and two chiral and antichiral fermionic superfields. When the Kahler potential is quadratic, the model is a free conformal fie...
